• Raise units above drifting sand.

Washing machines

Sand from the beach and lagoon, kitesurfing and watersport gear, and salt water all end up in the laundry. Rinse wetsuits and gear by hand in fresh water, shake out towels outside and clean the pump filter regularly.

Fridges and freezers

Salt and sand clog fridge condensers, especially for fridges in garages and braai areas. Many homes keep a freezer for fish and holiday supplies; keep it ventilated and out of the sun.
