Reading the Samsung error code

Samsung machines show a code on the display when something goes wrong. Common codes point to:

• Water supply problems, such as a closed tap, blocked inlet filter or faulty valve
• Drainage problems, such as a blocked pump filter, kinked hose or failed pump
• Unbalanced loads, where the machine cannot spin
• Door problems, where the lock cannot confirm the door is shut
• Heating, sensor or motor faults

Codes vary between models, so check your manual. The quickest way to get help is to send us a photo of the code and the model sticker, usually inside the door rim or on the back.

Not draining

Coins, hair clips, socks and lint block the pump filter, usually behind a small panel at the bottom front. If cleaning it does not help, the pump may have failed.

Not filling

A blocked inlet filter at the hose connection, a faulty inlet valve or low water pressure.

Door lock faults

The machine will not start, stops mid-cycle or will not release the door.

Unbalanced load and spin problems

Heavy winter blankets, duvets and towels are hard to balance. Worn shock absorbers make it worse.
