Appliance and Aircon Repairs in Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch is South Africa's best-known university town and the heart of the Cape Winelands, with oak-lined streets, historic Cape Dutch buildings, wine estates, guesthouses, restaurants and a large student population. Around the historic centre lie family suburbs, security and golf estates, and farms in the surrounding valleys.

Winelands heat

Stellenbosch summers are hot and dry, often much hotter than Cape Town's coastal suburbs. On a February afternoon, rooms heat up quickly, and aircons run for hours.

• Size for the heat. Bedrooms often need 12,000 BTU and living areas 18,000 to 24,000 BTU, especially when they face west or have large glass doors.
• Choose inverter units. They are efficient over long running hours and quieter at night.
• Service before summer. Dirty coils, low gas and weak capacitors fail on the hottest days.
• Use reverse-cycle units. Winelands winters are cold and wet, and reverse-cycle units heat efficiently.

Every installation carries a 2-year warranty and a free service every six months for those two years.

Student rentals

Landlords and agents of student houses and flats in Stellenbosch need quick, affordable repairs to shared washing machines, fridges, stoves and microwaves. Overloaded washing machines, packed fridges and stoves cooking for several students every evening wear out quickly. We coordinate access with tenants, send quotes to landlords and aim for quick turnaround. A check before the academic year begins avoids early-term breakdowns.

Estates and family homes

Golf and security estates around Stellenbosch have architectural guidelines for aircon outdoor units. We send photos for approval and coordinate access with security. Estate homes often have built-in kitchens, side-by-side fridges, wine fridges and several aircons, all of which we service and repair.

Guesthouses and wine farm venues

Guesthouses and venues need aircons in every guest room, fridges and freezers in the kitchen, laundry appliances for daily linen and coffee machines at breakfast. We offer pre-season servicing, quick callouts and work scheduled around guests.

Farms and borehole water

On farms and smallholdings around Stellenbosch, borehole water can cause scale in washing machines, dishwashers and coffee machines, and sediment can block inlet filters. Chest freezers in storerooms face summer heat. Farm visits are booked by arrangement.

Die Boord, Paradyskloof and the town centre

Stellenbosch is more than the university. Family suburbs such as Die Boord, Paradyskloof, Uniepark and Mostertsdrift surround the historic centre, while estates and wine farms line the valleys towards Jonkershoek, Helshoogte and the Helderberg.

The work we do differs across town:

• Central student digs: washing machines and fridges shared by several tenants.
• Family suburbs: busy kitchens and laundries, plus aircons for hot summers.
• Farms and estates: cold rooms, guesthouse aircons and borehole water.
