KIC freezers keep Cape Town households stocked

When a KIC freezer stops
If your KIC freezer has stopped working:
1. Keep the lid or door closed. A full chest freezer can keep food frozen for many hours if left shut. 2. Check the power. Plug, wall switch, breaker and any surge protector. 3. Listen. If the compressor clicks every few minutes without humming, switch it off to protect it. 4. Call or WhatsApp us with a photo of the rating plate. Tell us it is full of food, and we will prioritise it.

Manual-defrost models need defrosting when ice is thicker than about a centimetre. Rapid build-up points to a worn seal.

Looking after a KIC freezer
